Final Project: Emotions

I decided that I wanted my final project to be on Emotions. I thought that this would be fun because I could try to do many different things to show the emotions. My main goal for this assignment was to show emotions without using people to show them. Overall I had 5 that I used people in and 7 that I didn't so I think I got to my goal.

Fear

This was one of the harder ones to do so I let myself use a person in it. This was my third shooting that I got this from. I like this shot because it shows my sister afraid and in a dark corner. This to me looks like she is afraid of the surrounding darkness.

Sadness

This shot was really easy to come up with. Everyone thinks of rain as sad for some reason so that is why I chose this shot. This is one of my two favorites focus and exposure wise but, I didn't think it was very creative.

Anxiety

This is my Anxiety shot. I really like this one because I took a picture of my schedule for this week and put a chewed pen next to it to make it seem like i'm nervous. I think that I shot this one very well and that it is one of my more creative.

Happiness

This is my happiness shot. I really like this one because it makes me think of spring and warmth. This is my other favorite when it comes to shooting but, not one of my most creative.

Frustration

This is my frustration shot. I like this one because I took a random page from my math book and this is what it said on it. I like how it says no solution because it makes me think that they gave up on this one.

Excitement

This is my excitement shot. I couldn't think of an idea of what to shot as my exciting shot. So what I did is I asked all of the members of my family what they get excited about and all of them said a holiday and my sister said christmas so I pulled out a christmas snowman and took my pictures of that.

Emotionless

Emotionless I had to use someones face on because I could have taken a picture of a blank wall or something like that but, I think that would have been boring.

Depression

This is my depression shot. This was my second idea, my mom told my to pour some colored water down the drain and take pictures of it going around. When that didn't work I did this and I like this shot because it looks like in the background that everything is brighter and happier that her.

Confusion

THis is my confusion shot. My idea for this one was to put the camera on a long shutter speed and run around trying to get a blurry picture. This one I used I slid across my kitchen floor while taking a picture. I made this shot really blurry so that the emotion of confusion is on the people seeing the picture.

Boredom

This is my boredom shot and it was very hard to come up with an idea for it. This was the first thing I thought of but, I can't think of anything better so I used it. I shot it like this to make it look like I was really bored and that I didn't want to take pictures anymore.

Annoyed

Originally this was loving but, it is really hard to make a shot of love not look cheesy so I switched it to annoyed. I like this shot because I had just woken my sister up so she looks really annoyed.

Angry

This is my angry shot. This was the very first on that I shot and I thought that it was a great idea for Angry. There was one day were I didn't want to do something and I got really mad and kicked a whole in the wall.

Final Project Proposal

For my final project I thought that I would try to portray twelve different emotions. I thought that this would be a cool idea because it is a little difficult to capture an emotion when you are shoving a camera into someones face. The twelve emotions that I am going to portray are:

Happy

Sad

Angry

Depressed

Bored

Excited

Anxious

Annoyance

Scared

Confused

Frustrated

And just flat out Emotionless.

I will use several different people to show these emotions however I will not use a person in all of these.

Assignment #8- Get on Your Belly

For this assignment I decided to re-do get on your belly. I chose this assignment because I don't think that I made my pictures look like I was actually on my belly. So my main focus on this assignment I tried to shoot upwards as much as I could.










There isn't much to say about these pictures but I thought that I did a great job in making my pictures look like I shot them on my belly.

Assignment #7-Numbers

This is my 42. I decided to put this in my ten because I didn't have any that were a bunch of something. I actually like this one because I like the way that the plates are stacked.

This one is a bit of a jump. This is my 81 it is 81 because this book is exactly 81 pages long. I thought that this idea was a little obscure so I didn't print this one.

This is my 49. I really like this one because it is very weird. I like it because of the random stuff around it and also because the number is starting to fade a little bit.

This is my 38. My mom actually came up with this idea. At first I thought that it would look stupid and that a lot of other people would do this too. Then I just decided to print it and it was very unique.

This is my 27. This was one of the numbers I was having trouble finding so I cut a 27 out of a ramen box. I really like this one because the number blends in really well and it makes it look really cool.

This is my 15. There isn't much to say about it. I took this picture quickly and didn't spend much time on it. Then I was looking at it and I really like how random the "Sushi" is.

Portraits

For these first three my idea was to take a self-portrait of me as my brother Taft. When people find out that me and Taft are related they don't believe me because we look really different and act differently. So I thought that it would be funny if I dressed up as him. Overall I thought that these turned out ok but, they were a little boring.







These four pictures are of my little sister. My sister's personality is a little weird because she acts really serious around me and the rest of my family. So I thought that I would try to capture that seriousness. I thought that these turned out pretty good because the focus looks good on all of these.

These three pictures are of my littlest sister. She is very loud and a little annoying. When I asked her to take pictures with me she didn't seem very excited until about ten minutes into the shooting. I thought that these three turned out really good because her emotion in all of these is really funny looking.
